Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Aperture (“Aperture,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (the “Service”). A dating service is personal by nature, so we try to collect only what we need and to be clear about what we do with it.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you give us. Account details (such as your phone number and email), profile information (name, age, photos, and answers you provide), and the content of messages and other interactions on the Service.
  • Location. With your permission, approximate location or the city you tell us, used to show you relevant matches and to roll the Service out by region.
  • Usage and device information. How you interact with the Service, plus device type, app version, identifiers, and similar diagnostic data.
  • Information from sign-in providers. If you sign in or link an account through a third party (such as Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information that provider shares with us.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and provide the Service;
  • Suggest matches and operate the Service’s staged matching process;
  • Enable communication between members;
  • Keep the Service safe — detecting fraud, abuse, and conduct that violates our terms;
  • Send you service-related and, where permitted, promotional communications;
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • With other members. Your profile and the content you choose to share are visible to other members as part of how the Service works, consistent with the Service’s staged-reveal design.
  • With service providers. Vendors who help us operate the Service — for example, hosting and database (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery (Resend) — process information on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.
  • For legal reasons. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members, Aperture, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences (such as language and theme), keep the site working, and understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

6. Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit much of your profile in the app, and you can delete your account at any time. To make a request, contact us at info@aperturedating.com. You can also manage location and notification permissions through your device settings.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Help us protect your account by keeping your credentials private.

8. Children

The Service is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. International users

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means, and we will update the “Last updated” date above.
